Philippines, the Beautiful: Filipino Folk Songs (Video Karaoke, Lyrics)

Philippines, the Beautiful - Filipino Folk Songs

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the Fuited plain.

My Philippines, dear Philippines,
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with  brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for toilers' hands
Whose labor thou dost bless,
Creating fields and fruitful lands
From barren wilderness,

My Philippines, dear Philippines,
God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self control
Thy liberty in law.

O beautiful for patriot dream
The seas beyond the years,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!

My Philippines, loved Philippines,
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And ev'ry gain devine.

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!

My Philippines, dear Philippines,
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea

Katutubong Awit ng Negrito
Mangaso Tayo
Tagalog lyrics
Ibagay ang paa Sa tugtog ng tambol.
Tunog ng tambuli, Padyakan at ugong
Hawakan ang pana, Ang aso'y ihanda.
Mangangaso tayo Hu-hu-lihi'y sagana.

(English Translation)
Let's Go Hunting

Come stir your lazy feet!
The drum is sounding a beat.
I hear the clanging gong,
And tramping feet of a throng.
Sing hi-yi! hi-yi-- ho!
Seize your dart  and your bow!
A hunting we will go!
Hi-yi! Hi-yi! Hi-yi! Hi-yi! Ho!

(Repeat I)

II

(Repeat I,II)

coda:
Nais kong matulog
sa dating duyan ko inay
O, inay...

I
Praying  those old days won't fade
When I was a little child and in Mother's arms.
I wish to recur the song of mother dear.
The song of love as she rocked my cradle.

In my deep and peaceful sleep
The stars guard me in the vigil.
In the side of my mother life is heaven
My heart with sorrow, eager for a cradle swing.

(Repeat I,II)

 I wish to fall asleep
in my dear old cradle cradle.
Oh, mother ...

Sitsiritsit: Filipino Folk Songs (Lyrics and Karaoke)

Sitsiritsit
by: Nora Aunor

Sitsiritsit, alibangbang
Salaginto't salagubang
Ang babae sa lansangan
Kung gumiri'y parang tandang!

Santo Nino sa Pandacan,
Puto seko sa tindahan,
Kung ayaw kang magpautang,
Uubusin ka ng langgam.

Mama, mama, namamangka,
Pasakayin yaring bata,
Pagdating sa Maynila,
Ipagpalit ng manika.

Ale, ale, namamayong,
Pasukubin yaring sanggol,
Pagdating sa Malabon,
Ipagpalit ng bagoong.

(English Rough Translation)
Sitsiritsit, butterfly
Small beetle, big beetle
The woman in the street
Acting like a fighting cock

Santo Niño in Pandacan
Rice Puto in the store.
If you do not want to lend?
You will be eaten by the ants.

Lady, lady with umbrella,
Let the baby be with you
When you get to Malabon
Exchange her by shrimp paste.

Mister, mister, on the boat
Let the child in the boat
When it get to Manila
Trade him for a doll.

Sinisinta Kita: Filipino Folk Songs (Karaoke and Lyrics)

Sinisinta Kita-Lyrics
by: Nora Aunor

Kung ang sinta'y ulilain
Sino pa kayang tatawagin
Kung hindi si Neneng kong giliw
Naku kay layo sa piling

Refrain:

Malayo man, malapit din
Pilit ko ring mararating
Wag lamang masabi mong
Di kita ginigiliw

Ginigiliw kitang tunay
Panaginip gabi't araw
Kung di ka natatanaw
Lagi nang nalulumbay

Chorus:

Sinisinta kita,di ka kumikibo
Akala mo yata ako'y nagbibiro
Saksi ko ang langit sampu ng kanduro
Kung hindi kita mahal, puputok ang puso

(Repeat all)

(English Rough Translation)

If the beloved will leave
Who else can be called
No Other than my love Neneng
Oh so far in your arms

Refrain:

Far however, also near
I would try to reach
Do not you just say
I do not love

really in love with you
Night and day I dream of you
If I can't see you
Always been sorrow

Chorus:

Loveth you, you are motionless
You thought perhaps I was kidding
Heaven is my witness tens of heron
If you do not love you, my heart burst
(repeat all)

Seventy Six Trombones: American Patriotic Song-Sheet Music with Lyrics

Seventy Six Trombones
American Patriotic Song

Seventy six trombones led the big parade,
With a hundred and ten cornets close at hand.
They were followed by rows and rows,
Of the finest virtuosos,
The cream of every famous band.

Seventy six trombones caught the morning sun,
With a hundred and ten cornets right behind.
There were over a thousand reeds,
Springing up like weeds,
There were horns of every shape and size.

There were copper bottom timpani in horse platoons,
Thundering, thundering, all along the way.
Double bell euphoniums and big bassoons,
Each bassoon having its big fat say.

There were fifty mounted canons in the battery,
Thundering, thundering, louder than before.
Clarinets of every size,
And trumpets who'd improvise
A full octave higher than the score!

Seventy six trombones hit the counterpoint,
While a hundred and ten cornets blazed away.
To the rhythm of Harch! Harch! Harch!
All the kids began to march,
And they're marching still right today!

Seventy six trombones led the big parade,
when the order to march rang out loud and clear.
Starting off with a big bang bong on a Chinese gong,
by a big bang bonger at the rear.

Seventy six trombones hit the counter point,
while a hundred and ten cornets played the air.
Then I modestly took my place as the one and only bass,
and I oompahed up and down the square.

Lupang Hinirang: The Philippine National Anthem (Lyrics and Karaoke/videoke)

Lupang Hinirang Lyrics
Julian Felipe

(English Version)
The Philippine Hymn
Land of the morning,
Child of the sun returning,
With fervor burning,
Thee do our souls adore.

Land dear and holy,
Cradle of noble heroes,
Ne'er shall invaders
Trample thy sacred shore.

Ever within thy skies and through thy clouds
And o'er thy hills and sea,
Do we behold the radiance, feel the throb,
Of glorious liberty.

Thy banner, dear to all our hearts,
Its sun and stars alight,
O never shall its shining field
Be dimmed by tyrant's might!

Beautiful land of love, o land of light,
In thine embrace 'tis rapture to lie,
But it is glory ever, when thou art wronged,
For us, thy sons to suffer and die.

(English Rough Translation)
Because of You

My life is full of pain and suffering
A loving heart, there is no heaven
And when became happy, you retrieved me from despair
Only you my love, is my only hope.

Because of you I want to live
Because of you, 'till death
You should realize, there is no other love
My heart desires, you and you alone

Because of you, I am happy
My love, I will give you
If I ever really belong to you
All of these is because of you

If I ever really belong to you
All of these is because of you

Leron Leron Sinta: Philippines: Filipino Folk Song - Video Karaoke and Lyrics

Leron Leron Sinta
Filipino Folk Songs

Leron, leron sinta
Buko ng papaya,
Dala-dala'y buslo,
Sisidlan ng bunga,
Pagdating sa dulo
Nabali ang sanga
Kapos kapalaran,
Humanap ng iba.

Gumising ka, Neneng,
Tayo'y manampalok,
Dalhin mo ang buslo
Sisidlan ng hinog.
Pagdating sa dulo
Lalamba-lambayog,
Kumapit ka, neneng,
Baka ka mahulog.

Leron, leron sinta
Buko ng papaya,
Dala-dala'y buslo,
Sisidlan ng bunga,
Pagdating sa dulo
Nabali ang sanga
Kapos kapalaran,
Humanap ng iba

Ang ibigin ko'y
Lalaking matapang,
Ang baril nya'y pito,
Ang sundang ay siyam
Ang lalakarin nya'y
Parte ng dinulang
Isang pinggang pansit
Ang kanyang kalaban.

Leron, leron sinta
Buko ng papaya,
Dala-dala'y buslo,
Sisidlan ng bunga,
Pagdating sa dulo
Nabali ang sanga
Kapos kapalaran,
Humanap ng iba

Leron, Leron, my love
Up a Papaya tree
With him a basket new
To hold the fruit for me
But when he reached the top
The branch broke off
Oh what a bad luck
He has to find another one.

Paru-Parong Bukid: Philippine Tagalog Folk Song Video Karaoke and Lyrics

Paru-Parong Bukid
Paru-parong bukid na lilipad-lipad
Sa gitna ng daan papagapagaspas
Isang bara ang tapis
Isang dangkal ang manggas
Ang sayang de kola
Isang piyesa ang sayad

May payneta pa siya, uy!
May suklay pa man din, uy!
Nagwas de-ohetes ang palalabasin
Haharap sa altar at mananalamin
At saka lalakad nang pakendeng-kendeng.

(English Translation by Roberto Verzola)
I just saw a butterfly,
flitting and floating by;
waiting by the main trail,
fluttering in the air.
Sari wrapped around her,
sleeves as wide as my palm,
Skirt’s a trifle oversized,
ends dragging on the ground.
Her hair held with a pin, Oh!
Her hand twirling a comb, Oh!
Decorated half-slip,
drawing others to peep.
Then she faces the stage,
ogling her own image,
She would come and tease us,
hips swaying like a duck.

Mga Landas
Moderately fast

Sa munti kong nayon iyong makikita
Ang maraming landas na gawa ng paa.
Sa latag na damo na parang alpombra,
Daming landas doongkung saan pupunta

II

May patungo roon sa dakong taniman
May patugno rine sa Ilug-ilugan
Mayroong tungoý sa magulong bayan
Na maraming tao at mga sasakyan

(Ulitin ang II)

Ay iisang landas ang mahal sa akin,
Kinasasabikang yapakan at malasin,
Sapagkat patungo tahanan namin.

(Ulitin ang III)

Sa tahanan namin.

Song of the Road
English

I

In my little town, there you may clearly see
Wind many trails thet many feet have made,
Upon the green grass like a carpet on the vale,
Numberless paths to everywhere are well laid.

II

Trails to blooming fields are strtching like a hand,
And other paths lead to bubbling rills,
Others go to town where noise pervades the strand
Many people gather, vehicles go there.

(Repeat II)

III

But wherever I run, wherever I may go
There is a narrow path that I like most of all,
That I love to see as gently breezes blow,
Because it leads home where happy voices call.

(Repeat III)

Where happy voices call.

Sa Nanay Ko: A Filipino/Tagalog Folk Song Suggestion for the Celebration of "Mother's Day" in the Philippines

Sa Nanay Ko
With expression and feeling

I
Hm....... Hm......
Noong ako ay sanggol pa,
Sino baga ang nag-iwi
Kundi ikaw, aking Ina,
Inang aking minamahal.

Nang ako ay magkasakit,
Ay sins ang nag-alaga
Kundi ikaw inang ibig,
Inang aking minumutya.
II
Ang lahat kong kailangan,
Ngayong akoý malaki na
Ay ikaw ang nagbibigay
Ikaw rin nga, Inang sinta.

Pagtanda mo, Inang mahal,
Paghina ng iyong tuhod
Kitaý aking aakayin,
Ina akoý iyong tungkod
(Ulitin ang II)
Kitaý aking aakayin,
Ina akoý iyong tungkod.

To Mother - (English)
I
When I was very small indeed,
Who helped me in in my weakness
But you my dearest Mother
Sweet mother whow I hold so dear.

When I was sick in bed,
Who suffered and cared for me
Beloved mother best cherished,
O Mother whom I had so dear.
II
Every need in this life
Now that I am grown to manhood strong,
You give me, dear mother sweet,
Indeed, you do, my loving one.

When you grow old, my mother dear,
When both your knees begin to sag,
I'll help you when you're in pain
I'll stand by you my mother great.
(Repeat II)
I'll help you when you're in pain
I'll stand by you my mother great.

Ang Tatay at Nanay - A Song suggestion for the celebration of "Father's Day" in the Philippines

Ang Tatay at Nanay
Lively and gay

Kung walang haligi ang bahay, babagsak;
Magdidilim naman kung walang liwanag;
Mapapalad tayo, tayo'y magpasalamat.
(Ulitin lahat)

Father and Mother (English Version)

Dear Father the mighty pilar of our home,
Our Mother's the radiance for she is the light,
Our Father teaches us to help and to care,
Ang Mother says that loving each other is right.
And without the strong pilars the house will fall,
Without a light to shine darkness will come.
If our father and mother were both alive,
We would give thaks for we would be happy and gay.

Sama-samang Tumulong - Filipino/Tagalog Folk Song (Lyrics and Karaoke)

Sama-samang Tumulong
(tagalog lyrics)
Sa aking pagdungaw sa bintana
masaganang ani ang namasdan
Luntiang mga gulay
kalabasa't sitaw patola't upo

Hindi sayang ang pagod
at sipag sa paghahalaman
kaya't tayo na't
sama-samang tumulong,
 sumama upang bayan
natin ay sumagana

(English Translation)
Cooperate together

When I looked out to the window
Beheld the rich harvest
Green vegetables
Squash and string bean, loofah and white squash

Not alas the tiredness
and diligence to the Gardening
Let us therefore

So that our town will prosper.

Himno ng Mababang Paaralan ng Sulib - School Theme Song

I composed this hymn year 2003 for the school where I came from as my way of giving thanks.
Himno ng Mababang Paaralan ng Sulib
I
Ang Mababang Paaralan ng Sulib
ay mayrong malinis na hangarin
Kagandahang asal, katalinuhan,
sa bata'y inilalaan
 II
Dunong ay  makakamit
mag-aral lang na mabuti
Darating ang araw
masasabi mong
salamat sa Sulib.
 III
Pinagpala ng Maykapal
yaring ating paaralan
Bawat silid na mamasdan
puno ng karunungan.
 IV
Umawit, gumuhit, sumulat,
magbasa, tumula at tumuklas.
Sabay-sabay na magpugay

Looking for a place to rest, sigh,

Ouch, ow, ouch, ouch ...
Ouch, ouch, do not be sorry
For this poor Dragonfly.

Pandangguhan - Filipino Folk Song (Lyrics and Videoke/Karaoke)

Pandangguhan

I
Manunugtug ay nangagpasimula
At nangagsayawan ang mga mutya
Sa mga padyak parang magigiba
Ang bawat tapakan ng mga bakya
II
Kung pagmamasdan ay nakatutuwa
Ang hinhin nila'y hindi nawawala
Tunay na hinahangaan ng madla
Ang sayaw nitong ating munting bansa
III
Dahil sa ikaw mutyang paraluman
Walang singganda sa dagat silangan
Mahal na hiyas ang puso mo hirang
Ang pag-ibig mo'y hirap makamtan

Kung hindi taos ay masasawi
Mga pagsuyong iniaalay
Kung hindi taos ay masasawi
Mga pagsuyong iniaalay
IV
Halina aking mahal, ligaya ko ay ikaw
Kapag 'di ka natatanaw,
Ang buhay ko ay anong panglaw
Halina aking mahal, ligaya ko ay ikaw
Kapag 'di ka natatanaw,
Ang buhay ko ay anong panglaw
V
Kung may pista sa aming bayan,
Ang lahat ay nagdiriwang
May letchon bawat tahanan,
May gayak pati simbahan
Paglabas ni Santa Mariang mahal,
Kami ay taos na nagdarasal
Prusisyon dito ay nagdaraan,
Kung kaya't ang iba'y nag-aabang
May tumutugtog at may sumasayaw,
Mayrong sa galak ay napapasigaw
Ang pista sa bayan namin ay ganyan,
Ang saya'y tila walang katapusan.
(Ulitin ang I)

(English Rough Translation)
 I
The musicians have began
And the maidens dance
Seems to be destroyed In the tramp
To each trample of the wooden shoes
II
If you look is so amusing
The refinement were not missing
Really admired by the people
The dance of our small country
III
As of you muse Pearl
Nothing as beautiful as to the east sea
Dear beloved jewel your heart
Your love is hard to attain
If you are not sincere is perish
Affection offered
If you are not sincere is perish
Affection offered
IV
Come my dear, you are my happiness
When I do not not see you,
My life is dreary
Come my dear, you are my happiness

When I do not not see you,
My life is dreary
V
If there is feast in our town,
Everyone is celebrating
There are letchon in every home,
There is decoration in the church
The release of Saint Mary dear,
We is sincerely praying
Here Procession is passing,
So the others waiting
There are playing instruments and dancing,
There are shouting to the delight
The feast in our town like that,
The happiness seems endless.

Maligayang Araw
lyrics
I
II
Ang binata kung umibig
sa dalagang taga-bukid
Kunwari pa'y walang nais
ngunit puso'y pumipintig
(Ulitin ang I)
 III
Ang dalagang taga-nayon mahinhin at mahinahon
Kunwari pa'y walang layon ngunit puso'y kalung-kalong
Kaya nga't kung iibigin magt'yaga kang manalangin;
Kung hindi mo susuyuin lalayo ang pagtingin

(Ulitin ang I)

Maligayang Araw
(English rough translation)

Happy day and time of arrival
As presents of villages and fields
Real delight of all flowers here
And we can go singing and dancing .
II
The young man being in love
to the young lady from the field
without pretending to affection
but heart pounding

(Repeat I)
III

Pretending without intention but carry heart
For this cause if you love, patience unto praying;

If you do not please, love withdraw themselves.

Magtanim ay Di Biro - Filipino Folk Song (Lyrics, Karaoke and Music Notation)

Magtanim ay di biro
 Lyrics
Magtanim ay di biro
maghapong nakayuko
di man lang makatayo
di man lang makaupo

Sa umaga paggising
Lahat ay iisipin
Kung saan may patanim
May masarap na pagkain

Magtanim ay di biro
maghapong nakayuko
di man lang makaupo
di man lang makatayo.

Magtanim ay di biro
maghapong nakayuko
di man lang makaupo
di man lang makatayo.

Planting Rice is Never Fun
Planting rice is never fun, Bent from up 'till the set of sun.
Can not stand and can not sit, can not rest for a little bit.
Planting rice is no fun, Bent from up 'till the set of sun.
Can not stand and can not sit, can not rest for a little bit.

Come now , come now my fellow workers.
Let us do some stretching muscles,
Let us renew our strength,
For the work tomorrow.
II
My arms are numb
My waist is tired
My legs are aching
From staying long in the water.
III
Come now, come now
It is unfortunate to be born poor
If the muscles are not flexed,
we would not earn a living.

It's a Small World - Lyrics, Music Notation and Karaoke

 Its a Small World
Lyrics
It's a world of laughter, a world or tears
Its a world of hopes, its a world of fear
Theres so much that we share
That its time we're aware
Its a small world after all

CHORUS:
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

There is just one moon and one golden sun
And a smile means friendship to everyone.
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all.

Ang Tahanan (The Home) - Filipino folk song for the celebration of Family Week

Ang Tahanan (Tagalog Lyrics)
Filipino Version
Ang tahanan ay isang pugad ng pagmamahal,
Bata at matanda man doo'y ligaya ang taglay,
Hanap kong lagi'y iyan, saan man maglakbay.
Koro:
Sa init man at bagyo, dito ako nagkakanlong.

Tuwa, tuwa at saya
Tuwa at saya, at saya...

The Home (English Version)

Home is where the heart is young,
Home is where sweet peace abides,
Home is where the young and old
seek shelter and where joy resides.
Close beside a ripling rill,
stands my humble little home
Calling me such happy names,
wherever I may roam.

Chorus:
This is home, my humble home
Bamboo, nipa shape its form.
Parents, children live and work
In this shelter from the storm
Others boast of mansions great.
This is home, sweet home for me
Here is where my heart is free
Best of homes on land and sea.
(Repeat Chorus)

Land and sea, land and sea,
Land and sea, land and sea
Land and sea....
